"FeBland's boxes, an outgrowth of her large scale constructions and totems, present a compelling paradox in which the dichotomy of inside and outside is explored.  The exterior of 'The Star' is sculptural, formed of colored stripes in relief while its mirrored interior blurs the distinction between the container and the contained.  When looking within, ones gaze is refracted by the myriad reflective surfaces and is then turned back out.  Our visual entrance into the box's inner sanctum is ultimately denied.  Likewise the surfaces in 'Zenith 1' are as interesting and compelling as the interior, as if the box might have been turned inside out."
